    3. Inkford is a small hamlet within King's Norton. The Inkford Brook was the boundary between Warwickshire and Worcestershire in the days of the historic counties. There's only one Kings Norton, which was in Worcestershire before becoming part of Birmingham. In 1867 it was in Worcestershire. What form does the birth certificate take? In 1867 it should tell you the County, Registration District and Sub-district, which one would expect to be Kings Norton if he was born in Inkford, but it wasn't always the case that a birth was registered in the registration district where the child was born.. It might have been more convenient for the birth to be registered in West Bromwich. Does it give the residence of the informant? If the informant was his mother or father, that address is possibly where he was born. Many people were under the impression that they were born at the place where they lived as very small children: quite often research in the registers shows that they were born elsewhere and moved to their childhood home as a baby.
