I have checked the Coventry Archives Catalogue web site and found a reference to an "office copy" of my ancestor George Osmond's will, which was written in 1831 with codecil 1833. He died in 1837 and the will was probated that year.I have the probated copy from National Archives. Also, ref. to the will of his father, Thomas Osmond, written, died and probated 1818, office copy (watermarked 1845), I have the probated copy of this will. Can anyone please tell me, is there a difference between an office and a probated copy of a will and why would an 1818 office copy of a will be watermarked 1845? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thank you, Lynne.
