    3. One of the local pits is featured on the website http://hometown.aol.co.uk/pitexplosion/index.htm At that time the pits were privately owned. Any records may or may not have survived. Dugdales, Ludfords, Newdegates were amongst local pit owners. Googling or A2A may come up with some sources for remaining records.
