Hi Kathy, The surname JEFFCOAT and variants is subject of a huge One-Name Study - Ycan get the contact (Jess Jeffcott) from the GoONS website http://www.one-name.org/ It is always worth a look to see if somone else has looked into the surname. I have met Jess, and seen a huge book he has produced on the name, and that was several years ago, so I am sure he has more now.
