    3. Wendy: > On a brighter note, a recent entry in the 1861 census for Birmingham > included a small boy aged 2 years -birthplace unknown - who had been > adopted by a family named Thorley > There is a note added > " A foundling picked up on the street" > they named him Henry Providence. > God blest you Henry -I hope you had a good life There is no Henry PROVIDENCE anywhere in the UK in any other census, nor in the marriages or deaths records on FreeBMD. Nor does he appear as Henry THORLEY in any later census. There is a death of a Henry THORLEY in 1862 q2 in Birmingham RD which may possibly be him, but more likely it is the Henry THORLEY born about 1841 in Sutton Coldfield who appears in 1851 and 1861 but not in any later census. So it looks like we'll never know what happened to Henry PROVIDENCE. Best wishes Paul Prescott
