    3. BURDETT/BURDITT Hi Paul, My 3x gt grandfather's brother William PORTER, (1758-1837), of Walsgrave on Sowe, married an Ann BURDETT (BURDITT) at WOS on11/2/1816. She was baptised in BULKINGTON on 28/7/1777.Ann also came to the PORTER marriage with an illegitimate son, George TURNER, b. 1813 It was his 2nd marriage. They had one child of this union, Elizabeth b.3/5/1816, who later married Thomas WADDOUPS and as members of the LDS church sailed to America. I am in contact with an American direct descendant of hers whose info says that Ann BURDITT was the illegitimate daughter of the widow Mary GIBSON (nee BURDITT) and the widower John HIGGINSON. . My own sources are the WOS baptismal records, transcribed by Carole Eales and the LDS through Family Search and the Hugh Wallis site. The WADDOUPS family, and the Morman emigrations/Great Trek are well documented I don't know why I felt drawn to knowing more about distant "coz" Elizabeth but they make for fascinating reading! The WADDOUPS saga has photographs---and my branch lacks any for several subsequent generations! The 'icing on the cake" has been the recent contact, who found me through Googling! If you have anything relevant about Ann's Bulkington forebears, I would be most interested. NB. The PORTERS of WOS are the maternal side of my paternal PARRITT line. Regards, Muriel.
