    3. BULKINGTON---Connections or researching----- BICKNELL, GOODYER, PEGG, STEANE,WATSON, LUCAS, BONSOR. BICKNELL Sarah 1826-1916 marr. GOODYER Thomas .1830-1864. They had 3 children. Thomas and family left Bulkington for Canada. A year or so later he died and Sarah and chn. returned to Bulkington. Their eldest son was Henry GOODYER1874-1927. Henry marr.(1) Sarah Ann PEGG 1852-1890 (dau of Wm. PEGG). They had 13 children, only 3 survived infancy----and only 2 reached old age. Henry marr (2) Alice WATSON, (nee Campbell, widow. 1873-1975. They had 1 child . Henry had a brother Arthur GOODYER and a sister Emma GOODYER. They both had children. Emma marr George STEANE and they travelled out and settled in Canada .. I am in contact with the Canadian descendant, Barbara , who if someone wishes to add to their knowledge of the family, will I am sure be happy to oblige. She has willingly shared with me. My connection to the GOODYER family is through Alice WATSON who was my great-aunt, and also, as Alice's daughter May WATSON had earlier married Reuben GOODYER, son of Henry, through their surviving child Wilfred. Winnie GOODYER, Henry's daughter, was my mother's first cousoin. Besides material from Barbara I have our family info and photos, and because of the relationships mentioned, some are of GOODYERS. Henry GOODYER lived at Church Street, number 13, I believe. Alice WATSON moved to Bulkington, not sure when, but because of her long life she was resident there for many years----certainly well before I knew her in the early 1930s.She lived at 13 Chequer Street , which has been demolished, and replaced by maisonettes. The reconfiguration of that part of Bulkington has changed Church St---it is no longer as I knew it. LUCAS ---connections to Bulkington. George LUCAS, my grandfather's ½ brother was the publican at the "Rule & Compass" in Leicester St. I cant give you dates, but it was around the 1920s or '30s. George married Alice BONSOR and they had a daughter, Hilda, b.circa 1903, who married Joseph LENTON in 1931 but they had no children. They lived in "Hildane" , Bulkington, until their deaths. My mother , Doris LUCAS was born in one of the little row of houses in Marston Jabbett in March 1904.She and her elder sister walked from there to Collycroft School in Bedworth. Are any of these names of interest to Listers? Regards, Muriel
