Hello List Is there anyone on the List who lives or lived in Wolston and who may know what happened to a Cheshire farming couple who were at Wolston Grange farm in 1891? By 1901 the wife is shown as "married" but is housekeeper on a farm near Leek. Neither I, nor other researchers connected to the family, have found the husband on 1901 census. In 1891 the couple are: Frederick Joseph BASKERVILLE 26 born Alderley, and his wife Annie 22. They had no children listed on the census. I have a family memoir which records Annie married in red - which was "unlucky"; it goes on to say she died in childbirth. The latter is possible, she appears to have died 1903, though her position in 1901 suggests the father may not have been her husband. Any lively stories known in the Wolston area? Jacqui
