From his status, I should have thought it likely he had his own coach and probably a coachman to drive him to London. Just thought I'd add my two penn'orth and say that I think MAR is correct in saying that he was enjoying a stopover with friends at Areley Hall. But was he travelling by coach? The alternative is that he was riding on horseback and taking his sheep from Wales to London. I'm not sure of the route but could it be that he was following the old Drovers Road? Pam T
