I have a very old letter and my 3rd great grandfather is talked about as Sir William Goldring. I says he was a great hunter and was killed on a hunt. Would the Sir indicate that he may have been Knighted? He was born in 1804 in Hampshire but I believe he lived, married and died in Warwick. Any help with this would be appreciated, as he has proven to be a real problem to find.
