Jacqui, If you haven't already tried them, you might find a knowledgeable contact through this site which covers the histor of various villages in the area, including Wolston. http://groups.msn.com/brandonvillage Happened to be looking for information recently about Wolston landowners myself. In 18th c they included Lord Leigh of Stoneleigh, Maj-Gen George Scott, and the Edge family of Strelley (Northants) alias the Webb family of Sherbourne, etc (Warks), but don't suppose that is much help for the period that interests you. MAR in France.
