This week's Village People GAYDON "Gaega's Hill" Just off the main Banbury to Warwick Road so I expect a great many people have travelled through and perhaps stopped at the old coaching inn . According to the book " Warwickshire Towns and Villages" (Geoff Allen) the highwayman John Smith carved his name on a beam while waiting to be taken to Warwick in 1789 where he was tried and hanged .
