Hi List Does anyone have a connection with a pilot officer buried in Astley churchyard Richard Bowyer Vaux died 12/03/1940, any info would be a great help. Thanks Bernadette
Hello Bernadette I note that Richard was only 23 when he died so you should be able to find his Birth Registraion quickly in the GRO Index. I have recently been doing quite a lot of WW11 research for some-one else who lost a pilot and found the daily operations reports online for the various squadrons which list details of the crew and the actual final flight etc. 166 squadron berings up a lot of hits on google which may help you . I note they were Group 6- Pickard has the following info on his web site (may be a little too early but could lead to more info) http://www.hunimex.com/warwick/bmd/death_announcements_1874-1907.html 11/9/1862 Coleshill Chronicle BOWYER 5i Teignmouth, Lucy Bowyer Vaux youngest do B.Vaux Esq. formerly residing in this town and for many years was one of the surgeons to General Hospital If no-one else offers - I will do what I can to help further. good hunting Wendy Warwick List Admin Does anyone have a connection with a pilot officer buried in Astley churchyard Richard Bowyer Vaux died 12/03/1940, any info would be a great help.
