Good evening all, The area is Kingsbury touching on Middleton and nearby Hurley John Morris gt x 3 and Harriet James gt x 3 came together at Middleton Parish Church on 26 Sept 1819. John, according to his death cert in 1842, must have been born in 1789. I know not where for certain. Harriet was born 1795, I know not where. She must have moved on and probably remarried when John died at the relatively young age of 53 years. Harriett would have been 47 when he died. Consumption was quite common at the time I believe. At the time of his death John was the Miller at Whateley which I think is/was a hamlet in the Kingsbury area. They had four boys and two girls as follows, all born in Kingsbury ; John gt x 2 b.16 June 1822 who died within a few days of the turn of the century at nearby Wishaw so he had a good innings as did his wife Hannah nee Whithead of nearby Hurley, who died Wishaw at the age of 70. William b 1820 Sarah b 1826 Joseph b 1831 Jane b 1832 George b 1834 To my shame, at the moment, I only go back to 1789 with the Morris line. Other lines I have traced back to the late 1500s. But, to my credit, I have four grandsons who will continue the line. The twins are half Thai and the other two half finnish. The finnish connection is well documented but the twins gt x 2 grandfather was chinese so I don't think I'll be following that trail. But, one never knows. The Morris connections between 1789 and 1906 all centred on the adjoining parishes of Middleton, Kingsbury/Hurley, Wishaw, Curdworth and Water Orton and connected with Watterson, Whithead, James and Southall. The two world wars created havoc and the line only just held together. We now flourish again albeit in different parts of the world. Best wishes David Morris Ret'd Surrey.
