Hi All, There's a nice present day photo of GAYDON at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3986 My surname interest in Gaydon -LANCASTER Barb Stacey Solihull UK
Hello, my connection to Gaydon is the name of BAKER, my GGGrandparents were William Warwick Baker died 1895 and his wife Alice died 1905, both are buried there. William was a wheelwright, he worked for Flemmings and I believe that he may have lived in the thatched cottages opposite The Malt Shovel. I have an article that was sent to me from the Gaydon WI book of 1956, it names JACK ARNOLD, HARRY PHILPOT, WALTER LIDDINGTON,WILLIAM BARRADELL, EDWARD TAME ,THOMAS FLEMMING,Snr.,THOMAS FLEMMING,Jnr.,FRED STRONG. I have a photo of some of the men that worked a Flemmings, so if these names ring a bell, let me know. Kind regards, Brenda
