Hi Group. Was just wondering, How to order a birth certificate for pre 1837. I have the christening information. I am researching, Sarah Mullis, Christened 1820 her parents- Thomas Mullis, Anne Chatterly. Also her husband Thomas Cotterill Christened 1820. Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards Sherrill
I'm afraid you can't.... there are no Certificates pre September Quarter 1837 when Registration began.. the baptisms are the only registration you can get. Civil registration didn't commence until 1 July 1837 so there are no birth certificates available for 1820. The best you can get is a copy of the baptismal entry. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
