    3. Hello All. I have just sent another completed 1861 census file to Pickard for upload to his Pink Pages http://www.hunimex.com/warwick/freecens/1861/index_1861.html We have been working for over two years now and have transcribed 82 pieces with another 34 to go. Most of the work is online (see URL above) or will be when I get time to prepare the files for upload. We are working on the last 4 rural pieces, with the remainder being 20 Birmingham and 10 Aston Districts. The number of volunteers in the 1861 Team is dwindling as people either complete their allocation or drop by the wayside, (mostly the latter) due to poor health, lack of spare time, family and work commitments or sheer exhaustion . (and not due to my bullying, nagging or the threat of a flogging every few weeks ) Anyone interested in helping us out should email me off list please for details. I provide a FREE CD plus instructions on "how to" and you get the joy of learning about Enumerator's quirks and an intimate knowledge of the streets of Brum in 1861. I am prepared to split most of the pieces to get the work completed asap so it's not a huge commitment. I prefer experienced transcribers but at this stage I ain't too fussy so long as you are prepared to contribute ! I had hoped to retire last year and move on to PRs but will plod on for a while longer- I still believe we are providing a useful FREE alternative to the pay to view sites. Would current members of the 1861 Team please email me with a progress report if you have not done so in the last month. Cheers Wendy Boland aka Madame Lash.
