Hi - I am trying to find the occupants or the establishment at 22 Duddeston Row in the sub district of St Martin,Birmingham in 1904. My G.Grandmother Alice BANTON gave birth to her first child here in July of that year although living very closely nearby in Cardigan Street. I have a subscription to "Ancestry" and using the occupants on the 1881 census (350 Residents) where a street search of Duddeston Row is possible and seeing whether they were at the same address on the 1901 census where a street search is not, they all seemed to have moved in the following twenty years, including the occupants at number 22. I have also tried the directories for that period on the "Historical Directories" web site, again with no success. Could someone suggest a way forward? Regards, Keith S. (Dorset)
Hi Keith I often find that entering the road plus year of census into google finds mentions from other researchers who may also have relatives in the same place as yours, this can then lead you to finding your address Duddeston Row 1901 finds a few refs but nothing that lead me to it in 1901, I did find a census ref to the Row in 1891, perhaps that may lead you forward ? RG12 2384 97 5 should take you there to find a Mary PATEMAN living at no 22 (which suggests it was a house then) Perhaps one of the 1891 residents is still there in 1901?
