    1. [WAR] BELL INN, HALFORD

    3. The London to Birmingham Mail Coach route that I used to travel did not go through Halford. Halford is a couple of miles N of the old A34 and, as far as I can see on my old maps, that is the route that it has taken for a long time. However, Halford IS on the old Roman road from the Midlands to the West Country, the Fosse Way. The Fosse Way runs from Lincoln, through High Crosss near Hinckley, passes thro Halford and then continues on towards Exeter. The Halford Bridge Inn is listed as a 16th century coaching inn. No mention of the Bell Inn. Has it changed it's name?
