John seems to have been a bit of a "lost" soul! Sounds as if he may not have known where he was born? I would be inclined to believe the earliest record as it will usually be given by parents. However John would be c 30 years by 1851 and, therefore, in his own household. Can you find him on the 1841 Census? I had a quick look on FreeCEN but the only John FAULKNER who looks likely, unless you use a phonetic surname search, is born in Aston and not married to a Sarah. Did you know that there is another FAULKNER living next door in 1891 with someone from Aspatria? Could be interesting!! There is a likely looking John FAULKNER, chr in Wappenbury, close to Eathorpe and not far from Bishops Tachbrook, on I.G.I. who would be worth a look. When were John and Sarah married in 1837 as Marriages from Sep 1837 are on line at FreeBMD.
