Most likely the John Henry Buckingham baptized in Stratford in 1856 is the one whose birth is registered in Stratford-on-Avon in the Jul-Sep Qtr of 1856 GRO ref vol 6d pg 442. If you send for the certificate it will tell you the names of his parents. How do you know your J H Buckingham was born in Salford, Lancs if you haven't found his birth? If from a census, have you checked the original image? There are Salford Priors & Salford Abbots less than 10 miles from Stratford-on-Avon. In the 1851 census there is a Henry Buckingham born Oxfordshire on a canal boat in Aston,Warks - people like canal boatmen would have been travelling up and down the country which might explain children being born in unexpected places. There is a canal in Stratford - though it looks like it and a good part of the town may be under water at the moment with the terrible floods in the area. Hope none of our Warks listers have had to take to boats or spend the night on the roof.
