Our Selly Oak families migrated from Bitton, GLS (between Bristol/Bath), so Somerset could make sense. I got this far, then thought to check the newly available Will Indexes for GELL. Didn't find Kate, but did find her second husband. Henry Frank died 1887; Kate Emily m. 1845 Frederick William GELL in 1898; Frederick Wm died 1923; have not found Kate's death. 1891 Census *Widow Kate 33 Head of household at Hazelwell Halls, Kings Norton *Son 1882 Frank is a scholar, at the home of his grandmother, MaryAnn MEERE, 70 Pershore Road, Selly Oak (he is later named in her 1898 will) *Daughter 1885 Edith is a nurse child in the home of the WILKINSON family in Ladywood 1901 Census *Kate, 2nd husband Frederick GELL, and daughter Edith (as Ada): 20 Poplar Road Kings Norton *Son Frank G. MEERE is 18, a boarder in Aston, Occ Railway Engine Cleaner 1911 Census *Kate and Frederick GELL (cabinet maker, upholsterer) are still at 20 Poplar Road, (Kings Heath) *Edith and Thomas CLEMENTS (GPO Clerk, Engineering Dept) are married less than a year, at 156 Taylor Rd, King's Heath. No CLEMENTS births found with mother nee MEERE; no recognizable death and/or remarriage, etc. *Can't find Frank George MEERE anywhere. No marriage, death, emigration, noted war participation, directory entries, etc.
