    3. Hi all I have just found that my great, great uncle Thomas Patrick Land [b 1879] together with other siblings and inlaws moved from Birmingham to Ontario in the early 1900s. I have managed to find out quite a lot about Thomas and his brother George Joseph from Ancestry but there Canadian records seem to stop around 1915. I wondered if anyone knew of another source of Canadian records that I can access on line. I also had a look at Rootsweb but couldn't work out which, if any, of the other lists would help. Sorry if this is slightly out of area, but after searching for so long I'm so excited to have found them, I don't want to loose momentum!!! Thanks Barbara

    3. Hi Barbara, Did you ck. Ships Lists to see if you can find them there? - place of destinations is usually included. Ontario is a huge place so narrowing it down to at least a County or two would help. Do you know anything about his occupation? - that might be a clue to his destination in Ontario - new mines were being opened at this time in northern Ontario, new farmland was being measured out in midwestern and southern Ontario, while anyone with an idustrial trade might well have headed directly for Toronto area. Almost ever County in Ontario has an active and helpful gen. site that you can join and ask for help - ck into the Ontario Genealogical Society site for site addresses of the various counties. My father arrived in Canada in 1914 with his parents and siblings - found them on the Ships Lists although I'd known where they went to it was nice to get that copy. Also ck. Canadian immigration lists - all available thro Ancestry & Olive Tree. The Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid is great if you find any of them there, an ongoing project there to photo all the gravestones. Good luck, if I can help in any way be happy to do so. 3. Canada has the war enrollment for the expeditionary forces from England. It is on line. You might find some of your men there? Robyn, Qld.
