Dear Valerie It is a baptismal record. It is in abbreviated and probably somewhat mistranscribed Latin. I guess that what is intended is: Jacobus, filius Joannis et Helenae Power, patrinus Patricius Culloden, natus 01 Aug 1815 13 Aug 1815 James, son of John and Ellen Power [?father] Patrick Culloden, born 01 Aug 1815, baptized 13 Aug 1815. Patrick was the child's godfather/baptismal sponsor. It might be helpful to look at other entries in the same register to confirm (or not) my interpretation. I am hoping that some one may be able to help me with my request please ? I have found the following: Warwickshire, England, Extracted Parish Records - from ancestry.co.uk Text: Jacous, fs. Joannis et Helenae Power: pat. Patririus Culloden nat. 01 Aug 1815 13 Aug 1815 Book: 1578. Burials. (Burial) Collection: - Registers of Baptisms, 1657- 1824 I find this rather confusing - is it a baptism or a burial ? Is Patririus the minister and if so is he recored anywhere else. If not why does he suddnely pop up here, where did he come from and where did he go ? Here's hoping there are some people out there who are able to assist - all comments gratefully received.
