Dear All Is any one researching or any connections with the MAHOCK surname in Wichford or surrounding villages? I'm trying to find the father of: John EDDEN bastard son of Mary EDDEN c. 1750 in Whichford. (Father's name not shown). I have found: 31 05 1767 John MAHOCK (widow) married Mary EDEN (Spinster) in Whichford, and I'm just wondering whether I've hit on something interesting, or whether it's another red herring! I'm wondering if my hunch is right that John c. 1750, stands a good chance the father's name was John.  Perhaps John MAHOCK fathered the child whilst married to somebody else, but then married Mary when he was free to do so in 1767?
