    3. Hi Robyn For a basic breakdown of information to be found in Parish Registers, with examples see http://www.british-genealogy.com/resources/registers/home.htm Pre Civil registration is where it starts to get really interesting You might like to have a look at the free online classes on familysearch http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp (lower half of the screen under Family History Library) Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Gus, can you tell us, and maybe others, what on earth WAS on a wedding > certificate before 1837. 3. Thank you for details of info on certificates....to be honest I am still trying to find the 'brickworks' my 'family' owned in Staffordshire....well they worked in a cement works! That is close enough.....not to mention the one who 'married a DUKE!' - well he was, a Mr Duke and then there was the one who married a 'CAPTAIN' - well he was, a Salvation Army Captain.....all genealogy is interesting isn't it? Sad about the Duke and Captain though. All the best. Robyn, Qld. Oz.
