Sorry, Janet, because it's extremely likely she'd be wasting her time :-( Unless, that is, it was in a decidedly-peculiar "peculiar" and the Will isn't held by the Diocesan Archives. About half of Warwickshire at that time was in Lichfield and Coventry Diocese [and the remainder in Worcester Diocese] and so Warwickshire Record Office doesn't hold more than a few 'stray' Wills. Lichfield Record Office *should* hold this Will. I know that *some* of their Wills Collection has been indexed and are on-line at their site, but I suspect they haven't yet reached the late 1700s. HTH Gus Have you tried contacting Warwickshire Record Office by email to see if they hold a copy and if so whether they could copy it and how much it would cost? Janet An ancestor died in Meriden and the will was proved in Coleshill in 1797. I searched the net to find out how to obtain info and got nowhere. I wonder if there's a way to find where and how to obtain the will easily from overseas.
