    3. To Janet Booth, A very big thank you for all your trouble that was a wonderfull help may i ask what a British birth certificate has on it. Sue -----Original Message----- From: Janet Booth Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2012 8:31 AM To: WARWICK@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WAR] BAKER FAMILY ASTON Hello Sue, The 1911 census of Aston Warwickshire shows the family of Alfred BAKER, born c1870 in Richmond, Surrey who was a General Labourer, Anny BAKER born c1880 Birmingham as are their two daughters Agnes aged 3 and May aged 1. The census also shows that Alfred and Anny have been married for 9 years and that they have had 6 children only 2 of whom are still living. There is a marriage registration on the GRO Index in the September qtr 1901 at Aston reg district of an Alfred BAKER and one of the other names on the page is that of an Annie MORRALL which sounds a good fit. However, to be actually sure that this is the correct couple, you should purchase May Elizabeth's birth certificate as this will show her mother's maiden name. There is a birth registration of a May Elizabeth BAKER in the September qtr 1909 at Aston reg district which could well be your May. Trying to confirm whether this is the correct family from the information you have given, I think the 1901 census of Aston may have turned up trumps for you: RG13/2889, folio 32, page 5 1 Isabel Place, Aston Thomas MORRALL Head Mar 50 General Labourer Steel Stamping Works Warwicks Studley Harriett do Wife Mar 44 Worcester Webheath Edward do Son S 23 General Labourer Steel Stamping Works do Offenham Annie do Daur S 21 French Polisher do do Ernest do Son S 17 General Labourer Steel Stamping Works Warwicks Washwood Heath Eliz? do Daur S ? French Polisher do Birmingham Florence do Daur S 10 do do Herbert do Son S 8 do Saltley Mary D? do Daur S 4 do Birmingham Alice do Daur S 2 do do Alfred BAKER Visitor S 28 ? Holder Erector Surrey Richmond This could be how Annie and Alfred met. The 1911 census of Aston shows Thomas & Harriet living at 20 Cheston Road and that they have been married 39 years, had 13 children ten of whom are still living and with them are children Edward, William born c1884 at Birmingham, Florence, Herbert, Winifred born c1897 Birmingham, Alice and Agnes born c1904 Birmingham. Thomas is now shown as a Gardener. To go further backwards, you should really purchase the birth certificate of Annie MORRALL which will then give her mother's maiden name which will enable you to make sure you find the correct marriage for her parents. Hope this helps.
