    3. Hi Ed Is your Ellen SWIFT the one born Berkswell 1852? I take it the marriage cert states that Thomas was her father? what was his occupation then?     3. My Ellen Swift was born 5 May 1849 in Lancashire. Her father, Thomas, was born in 1817 in Balsall. He died in 1880. I REALLY appreciate the responses I have received here. They have already filled in a lot of blanks on my family tree!
