Hi guys, I realise that this pertains to a location outside of Warwickshire but I thought I'd give it a try. Does anyone have any information or connection regarding Earl Shilton Silver Prize Band? (Earl Shilton in Leicestershire near Hinckley). My grandfather Claud PHILPOTT was a member of the band, sometime just after WW1 I suspect. The family legend is that he led the band to a Silver Medal position in a competition "down in London". Certainly his grandson has a presentation baton in his possession bearing the inscription "Presented to Mr C Phillpot by the Officers and Members of the E.S.S.P.B." The hallmark gives a date of 1911 but that may of course not be the date when it was presented. Any snippets of info, images (would be fantastic!) or ideas on other possible sources of information would be extremely welcome. Very best regards. Ian Phillpott
