Hi Paul In true pantomime fashion "oh yes you can" <g> In fact its the only way you can get a full list of recently added databases Using the "view all new records" from the home page only gets you the last page of additions So if you go to the card catalogue Enter no search terms, enter the year 2012 into the date last updated box & search That pulls up all added in the year 2012, (594 databases) Adding the location England gets 166 hits Adding the month September gets 103 hits You can go further by adding a part of the category, ie recently there were a large batch of books added, they are browsable not searchable so will not show in searches Add keyword Stories* (which pulls up those in "Stories, Memories & Histories") and you will get the 63 books recently added The card catalogue is quite powerful so well worth a look Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 29/09/2012 15:10, Paul Prescott wrote: > Nivard: > > But (unless you know something I don't) you can't get a list of databases, > most recently added first, as Connie described. > > Paul >
Hi Nivard: "Oh no you can't" :-)) Agreed the Card Catalogue is a powerful resource, and I've been using it for years. But I've now discovered (I think) that my dogged adherence to Old Search may be missing something. What I want is a worldwide list of Ancestry databases, listed by order of date added, most recent first. I don't think your method does this. I want a worldwide list because I'm doing a one-name study. Unless you know better ......
