Hi Connie: > You can get there now by clicking on Search then Card Catalogue thenSort By and select Date Added from the drop down menu. It's thefourth item down. This is very interesting, as i've been using Ancestry for years but not come across this search route before. But I can't follow it ;-(( After clicking on the drop down Search menu and selecting Card Catalogue, how do I find Sort By, please? TIA Paul
Hi Paul There isn't actually a "sort by" named as such but you can sort by record type, time period, date last updated and location Often you want to know what has been added so enter the current year and or month Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 29/09/2012 12:16, Paul Prescott wrote: > Hi Connie: > >> You can get there now by clicking on Search then Card Catalogue thenSort > By and select Date Added from the drop down menu. Hallo The Sort By option is a drop down menu above the list of titles and collections. It's currently set on Popularity. Click the down arrow and choose Date Added. There are other options. Hi Connie I wondered why my description of the card catalogue search was at variance with yours I see the reason now, you are using their new search Under old search its as I described, under new search its as you describe I thought I would mention it in case other users are wondering why they are seeing different things Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hallo > > The Sort By option is a drop down menu above the list of titles and > collections. Aah, that explains it. I'm an Old Search man too, which explains why I couldn't follow Connie's instructions. First time I've come across something useful in New Search that couldn't be done in Old Search. Thanks.
