Hi Peter, I don't know if there is an independent list for the whole country as you describe but I find the best place to locate towns and parishes by county in the first instance is at GENUKI (www.genuki.org). Then most county record offices produce guides to their parishes, and to non-conformist records, most of them available to download from the web.
