Anne, Another instance of not very good transcription on Ancestry's part. The actual baptism of Thomas at Solihull reads: 19 June 1792 Thomas Barnardiston son of Revd Richard William & Hester YATES The same applies to his sister Hester's baptismal record. Hi Does anybody know which list Kings Bromley is on?? My GGGrandfather Thomas EDWARDS was born there, married his wife Millicent at Matlock in 1811 and brought up his family in the Walsall/Aldridge area. They spread through the area and places like Pipe Ridware, and my GGrandfather (William) emigrated to Australia in 1875. Hi Connie Not wishing to contradict but the library edition specifically prohibits use from home On occasion a library breaks the rules but they are usually brought to book Another avenue is the LDS FHS who have Ancestry and often also have Findmypast Some local family history societies also have Ancestry Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 23/10/2012 20:41, Connie wrote: > Ed Palmer wrote: >> Hello again, >> >> I appreciate how helpful you have been in assisting me with my family >> research. Hallo Ancestry's subscription is expensive but it is less than the air fare to come to the UK. There are ways around the cost. Does your local library have Ancestry? Many UK libraries have access and it doesn't cost anything to access it. Sometimes it is possible from home with a library card. Sometimes it has to be in the libary. Another way is to take out a month's subscription and search for everything you need or want then unsubscribe just before the end of the month. Leave it for a while, then take out another month's subscription. I used to do it that way. Connie in London
Hello again, I appreciate how helpful you have been in assisting me with my family research. I have reached a point now where all the info I need seems to be in ancestry.com's English/European section which they want to charge me a fortune to access. I was wondering if you could assist me with Robert Palmer (my Great, great, great grandfather and beyond if you have access to those records. I would be happy to allow you access to my on line family tree so that you can see what I have and maybe correct me if I have made mistakes that you may spot. So many of the English and geneological terms are foreign to me ( can you believe) that I appreciate any help I can get. I have attached many of the census sheets you sent to me to the appropriate person on my tree (I hope). One thing I keep seeing is a long number attached to some of the names in my tree. Don't have a clue what that means?? Anyhow, I'd appreciate the help if you are willing.
