Hi Carol In Findmypast's new newspaper collections if you put in Leasowes Farm and then filter it you get mentions of the Adcocks in connection with Leasowes Farm Stoneleigh in the Coventry Evening Telegraph c.1914 and mentions of the auction of Leasowes Farm in 1828 in the Coventry Herals. BUT what information do you want? Mike Fisher in Droitwich my family tree http://mjfisher.tribalpages.com

    3. Hello Carol, We'd like to try to help you - but you'll need to help us by telling us what you want to KNOW before we've a chance... Is it the Parish? [Civil? or Ecclesiastical?] - and, if so, at what date? Is it today's Post Code? Or something as basic as "Where IS it?" And/or its Map Reference? It would also help were you to explain where you got that "District 11" from... A Census?? If so, which one? [And what would really help is that Census's detailed reference so we can then see it too.] What is it 'District 11 *OF*? 3. Carole, Perhaps you would be more specific about what you want to know. If you know who owns the property, wouldn't it be more informative to contact them? Based on the fact that in 1911 The Leasowes is enumerated between Hill Farm Stoneleigh and Stivichall Grange, Coventry, and that The Leasowes is marked on a current Ordnance Survey map between Stoneleigh and Stivichall (but much nearer to Stivichall) and that there is a King's Hill adjoining, it's most likely to be Leasowes Farm, Green Lane, Coventry CV3 6EG, the location of which corresponds with the place marked on the map as The Leasowes. There is also a Leasowes Farm at Hampton Rd, Warwick CV35 8HA (on the Budbrook side of Warwick) and a Leasowe Farm at Southam Rd, Radford Semele, Leamington Spa CV31 1TY. Really appreciate your help thanks to you we cleared the way with your census help that this is the right family, alfred annie, Agnes, and may Les.s Mum. that Cleaton would tie in but the death of Ebby Agnes is to early as Les born 1946 and he said she was alive in the 1950s. i know they are catholics Les s mum left the church but ebby had a few children Les thinks Donald in the army her son.ive tried to find a Nancy another daughter only one i could find was a Johnson. Im stuck Janet. Could this be the Evelyn BAKER who married Albert JOHNSON? There was also a Donald JOHNSON whose birth was registered in the June qtr 1940 at Birmingham reg district, mother's maiden name BAKER. The nickname Ebby would seem to fit in more with Evelyn than with Agnes, wouldn't it, but then it is a question of trying to fit in this family with your husband's family which is more difficult! I can only find one Agnes BAKER in the 1911 census of Warwickshire and this is the daughter of Alfred & Annie BAKER - your family. There is a marriage registration for an Agnes BAKER at Birmingham North reg distict in the December qtr 1926 to a Frederick CLEATON but they only seem to have had one daughter, Margaret A, whose birth was registered at Birmingham in the March qtr 1941 which is a long time after the marriage before their first child was born. You can find her marriage registration on the GRO in 1963. I then pick up a death registration for an Agnes CLAYTON at Birmingham in the June qtr 1948, aged 42 which would fit in with the birth date of your Agnes BAKER. There are several death registrations for a Frederick CLAYTON (none spelled CLEATON) in Birmingham. Not sure whether this helps or makes things more difficult for you. Let me know what you think. 3. To Janet Booth, A very big thank you for all your trouble that was a wonderfull help may i ask what a British birth certificate has on it. Sue -----Original Message----- From: Janet Booth Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2012 8:31 AM To: WARWICK@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WAR] BAKER FAMILY ASTON Hello Sue, The 1911 census of Aston Warwickshire shows the family of Alfred BAKER, born c1870 in Richmond, Surrey who was a General Labourer, Anny BAKER born c1880 Birmingham as are their two daughters Agnes aged 3 and May aged 1. The census also shows that Alfred and Anny have been married for 9 years and that they have had 6 children only 2 of whom are still living. There is a marriage registration on the GRO Index in the September qtr 1901 at Aston reg district of an Alfred BAKER and one of the other names on the page is that of an Annie MORRALL which sounds a good fit. However, to be actually sure that this is the correct couple, you should purchase May Elizabeth's birth certificate as this will show her mother's maiden name. There is a birth registration of a May Elizabeth BAKER in the September qtr 1909 at Aston reg district which could well be your May. Trying to confirm whether this is the correct family from the information you have given, I think the 1901 census of Aston may have turned up trumps for you: RG13/2889, folio 32, page 5 1 Isabel Place, Aston Thomas MORRALL Head Mar 50 General Labourer Steel Stamping Works Warwicks Studley Harriett do Wife Mar 44 Worcester Webheath Edward do Son S 23 General Labourer Steel Stamping Works do Offenham Annie do Daur S 21 French Polisher do do Ernest do Son S 17 General Labourer Steel Stamping Works Warwicks Washwood Heath Eliz? do Daur S ? French Polisher do Birmingham Florence do Daur S 10 do do Herbert do Son S 8 do Saltley Mary D? do Daur S 4 do Birmingham Alice do Daur S 2 do do Alfred BAKER Visitor S 28 ? Holder Erector Surrey Richmond This could be how Annie and Alfred met. The 1911 census of Aston shows Thomas & Harriet living at 20 Cheston Road and that they have been married 39 years, had 13 children ten of whom are still living and with them are children Edward, William born c1884 at Birmingham, Florence, Herbert, Winifred born c1897 Birmingham, Alice and Agnes born c1904 Birmingham. Thomas is now shown as a Gardener. To go further backwards, you should really purchase the birth certificate of Annie MORRALL which will then give her mother's maiden name which will enable you to make sure you find the correct marriage for her parents. Hope this helps. 3. Hello Sue, The 1911 census of Aston Warwickshire shows the family of Alfred BAKER, born c1870 in Richmond, Surrey who was a General Labourer, Anny BAKER born c1880 Birmingham as are their two daughters Agnes aged 3 and May aged 1.
