    3. My John Herps was born Nuneaton,Warwickshire Hello Jan I suggest you try a few more spelling variants- sounds as though the surname may have had the "H" added in Oz. Suggest you try EARPS in Nuneaton and surrounds The IGI lists several families- batch number C042431 But also try Mancetter & Chilvers Coton There is a child John EARP christened at Mancetter in 1795 Parents John & Ann Batch C043703 Do you know of John's trial date and where he was tried? Have you seen the ships indent? Good hunting Wendy Boland Warwick List Admin

    3. Valerie Your guess could be correct - in British Vital Records Index the Baptism is listed as - BUCKINGHAM, John Henry Christening Gender: Male Christening Date: 28 Jul 1856 Recorded in: Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England Collection: Holy Trinity Mother: Hannah BUCKINGHAM Source: FHL Film Dates: 1825 - 1857 Helen New Zealand -----Original Message----- From: warwick-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:warwick-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Valerie Compton Sent: Sunday, 22 July 2007 3:34 p.m. To: WARWICK@rootsweb.com Subject: [WAR] researching John Henry Buckingham Hi List, I am researching JOHN HENRY BUCKINGHAM b. 1855 in Salford, LANCASHIRE. His marriage cert. lists his father as HENRY BUCKINGHAM. I cannot find John Henry's birth entry anywhere except there is an entry on the L.D.S. site for JOHN HENRY BUCKINGHAM christening 28/7/1856 Holy Trinity, Stratford On Avon, Warwick. No parents listed. Do you think it would be possible that this could be him. Could he have been a base child and the mother transported to Warwickshire from Lancashire? Why do some sites not list the parents? I don't know if anyone there has access to birth records or not but I would like to know who the parents of this John Henry Buckingham were if possible. Many thanks Valerie (from N.Z. ) ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to WARWICK-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Most likely the John Henry Buckingham baptized in Stratford in 1856 is the one whose birth is registered in Stratford-on-Avon in the Jul-Sep Qtr of 1856 GRO ref vol 6d pg 442. If you send for the certificate it will tell you the names of his parents. How do you know your J H Buckingham was born in Salford, Lancs if you haven't found his birth? If from a census, have you checked the original image? There are Salford Priors & Salford Abbots less than 10 miles from Stratford-on-Avon. In the 1851 census there is a Henry Buckingham born Oxfordshire on a canal boat in Aston,Warks - people like canal boatmen would have been travelling up and down the country which might explain children being born in unexpected places. There is a canal in Stratford - though it looks like it and a good part of the town may be under water at the moment with the terrible floods in the area. Hope none of our Warks listers have had to take to boats or spend the night on the roof. 3. G"day Subscribers I have put the List on Moderate for all messages due to spam sneaking through. I will keep this measure in place for a few days while the problem is sorted out. This means that all messages need to be approved by the List Admin before being released to the List. so there may be a few hours delay which I do not expect will be much of problem given the nature of our hobby. If it does bother you all I shall appoint an Admin assistant to deal with messages while I sleep! I trust you will all be patient while we find the source of the leak in our defences- where's my whip ! Thank you Wendy Warwick List Admin

    3. Hello Debbie Don't know if you have tried searching any historical directories for Hamnett Studios listed in the trade section under photographers. If you can find out when they were in business this might help you date the photgraphs. There are some historical histories online at http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/index.asp Otherwise you might find some at the Warwick Record Office, Birmingham Archives or a local library. If you don't live local you could send them an email and they might do a look-up for you. I recently contacted the Cheshire Record Office and they found my Rowley family of Silk Manufacturers listed in Kelly's Directory. Hope this helps Regards Carole Debbie wrote: > Hello listers, > I'm trying to connect some dots on some old photo's and was hoping someone can be of help. > > Through the census years, my ancestors (HUMPHRIES) lived on the following streets: > 1851 - Dartmouth St. - Aston- > 1861 - The Coldfield - Sutton Coldfield- > 1871 - Easy Row, Erdington Village - Erdington > 1881 - Marsh Ln, Woodbine Villas - Aston Manor > > The 2 photo's were taken at Hamnett studio? that is listed as Bristol St., Birmingham. 3. G'Day Subscribers. Not sure how the spam snuck through the Rootsweb filters but I have dealt with it and hope it does not happen again. In order to subscribe people will now have to be approved by the List ADMIN- I shall keep this in place for a while and if necessary I will put the List on Moderate till things go back to normal. Please do not keep alerting me - I received the offending email as well. I deal with many, many more every day so that they never reach the List. Thank you Wendy Warwick List Admin.
