It can be obtained from Tuttle Antiquarian Books, 28 S. Main St., Rutland, VT 802-773-8229 www.tuttlebooks.com for about $35. It is very extensive but only covers the continuation of the males of the family, not the females. It does give some information about the person, who they married, who the father-in-law was, birth/death and the towns, and all the children. It only covers the Sumner name. It does not list descendants of any Warrens, although some of them did marry Sumners and are mentioned as spouses. What the book has on Diadama Sumner is she was born 3/14/1798 in Milford (doesn?t say where that is), married Orrin Sumner and died in 1846. She was the daughter of Darius Sumner, b. at Mendon 9/28/1755; was a soldier in the Revolution; m. 2/19/1784, Anna Daniels; lived in Milford; d. 5/2/1847. Her siblings were Ama; Anna; Sullivan; Solon (d. 2/16/1798); and another brother Solon b. 4/13/1800. I?m trying to figure out which Orrin Sumner she married. One of the ?Orrin?s did relocate to Ohio along with a few of his brothers. They were after the free land grants, but I?m not finding anything in the book. This is of particular interest since my husband?s name is Orin Sumner (named after his grandfather Orin J. Sumner of MN). Diadama was not the mother of Persis Sumner (that was Ebenezer and Persis Pease Sumner, 1762). Persis Sumner went on to marry Nathaniel Warren and they had a daughter Persis Patty Warren (1785, Thompson, Geauga, Ohio ). James Pullen was asking about an Allen Melancthon Sumner b. in Boston 1/31/1844. M.D. Harvard 1868; m. 3/3/1868, Ellen Frances, daughter of Benjamin F. Prescott of Boston; lived in Boston, worked as a physician. One child, Margaret Bradlee, b. in Boston 3/19/ 1875. I?m still working on both the Sumner and the Warren line, and probably will always be working on it. Any additional information you can share would be helpful and I would be willing to help you also.
