I didn't know where to start or which trail to follow until I entered the Family Tree DNA Project under the surname of Warren. If you go to this site, order a kit, you will find after your results are posted, in most cases, which family line you are from and it will help you know who to contact or to make posts that will help you. My Warren tested out Rappahannok line from Virginia and that put me in contact with those who I'm working with now. Go to: Click on: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/warren/default.aspx Then click on the left side of the page where it says: REQUEST TO JOIN THIS GROUP -- now after you are into the next page, find the #2. on the page and follow the directions to order a kit. (usually, 25 - 37 markers is best but 12 is better than nothing.) When you test only 12 markers, you sometimes match a lot of other surnames.
