It is likely her real name was Wilhelmina, but trying to find a single woman in a census is very difficult. The families are indexed by head of household and your Willie could be buried inside a family and not readily found. You will likely have to do what I have had to do--look at every Warren census listing in the entire state of Mississippi. I can vouch for the fact that there are a lot of them. One item I am not clear on is whether Willie's maiden or married name is Warren. One item you can do is estimate the birth date for Willie. I use an average of 25 years for each generation, so if Willie's daughter Gertrude was born in 1887, I would start looking for a woman born around 1862. If she was born a Warren, I would look for Warren families in the 1870 Mississippi and Texas censuses with a head of household about 30-35 years of age or born about 1835-40. I have to warn you though that Mississippi was totally unhinged by the Civil War with many, many killed or dispersed and it may prove to be impossilbe to find your Wiilie or her parents. As you have already seen, a lot of Mississippians moved to Texas after the Civil War. Start with the Mississippi census and then move on to Texas. Good Luck!
