Anyone know about this WARREN? -probably from a promionent Irish family, as Richard USSHER was. RICHARD JOHN USSHER of Cappagh, Co. Waterford (1841-1914). Field naturalist, archaeologist and author. Wrote "The Birds of Ireland" with Robert Warren (1900). Also notable for his cave-diggings at Doneraile and elsewhere. Was the first to discover remains of the mammoth and the sabre-toothed tiger in Ireland. Founded the Irish Society for the Protection of Birds. The late Geoffrey Taylor spoke of him as "hardly less fantastic a figure than the famous Squire Waterton himself".
