This doesn't make sense. I think you meant 1849 not 1949? 'Irvin' was a middle name. Good luck on trying to find Martilla (the way it's spelled on her gravestone) in any census past 1870. Where in the heck did they get to? I have a Warren family member who is 80 who says that Martilla and Cicero 'Irvin' Houston's son Sam came to visit his cousins in Texas once and she remembers the visit well. So they had at least one kid. I can't figure out how she ended up buried in Shelby Co TX when I can't find her in any census there. Ideas? You might be interested for fun to know that the grandchildren called John Stephen Warren and Effie Gossett Warren 'Maw-Maw' and 'Paw-Paw.'
