May I ask how you found out that Thomas' father was also a Thomas? Since this posting, I have found my 2x gr. grandfather Thomas, his wife Ellen Maria Backwell and various numbers of their children on the 1861, 1871, 1881 & 1891 British Census listings, including my gr grandfather James. I saw a Thomas Warren of the right age & community in the 1851 and 1841 census listings, but that lad was living with his grandfather, aunts & uncles, all by the last name of Allen. I have no way to confirm that this is my Thomas.
