The Geneographic Project by National Geographic 2. Family Tree DNA www.familytreedna.com Either one will be great. If you do the Geneographic Project first you can transfer you results to Family Tree DNA Warren Project for free. You will need to contact Family Tree DNA after you test and ask to transfer your result to their project. You may also have to request from the Warren Project Administrator permission to enter the Warren Project, which should be no problem to do. If you Do the Family Tree DNA I'd do the 37 Marker Test. If you do the 12 Markers with National Geneographic you can always upgrade the markers when you transfer you results to Family Tree DNA ONLY if you wish. YOU SAID, "he gets tested will he show the warrens or his fathers lineage" No they don't do trees, but your results will be sent to all who match you so you can contact them and see if you have a common ancestor. It is a great way to find people who are working on the same line. Sometimes they are from your branch of that line and sometimes it is hard to make a connection how you are related. There are a lot of serious Warren reseachers out there that will help you if they can. Also, Go to www.genforum.com and look at the Warren forum there.
