    3. This family can be confusing because most of Frederick and Mary Warren's children named their own children after their brothers and sisters. So birthdates are very important. I hope that I can help you and not confuse the matter even more. My records show a son Elijah for Edward Warren, b. 8/03/1774, d. 9/03/185 . I don't have Elijah's statistics other than a birthdate of around 1820. My records show no son named Elijah for Issac Warren, b. 7/07/1779. However his son, Frederick had a son named Elijah, who would be Issac's grandson. To confuse the issue further, Edward Warren's son, Issac, also had a son named Elijah, b. 1834. My guess is that your Elijah is the son of Edward Warren. Does anyone in your family have an old Bible with birth and death records? You can follow the family back in the census also, starting from the last person you're certain of and searching back. Edward and his wife, Margaret, are buried in the Wenksville Methodist Cemetery in Adams County, PA. Frederick Warren died intestate and his estate was settled by the Orphans Court in 1801 and 1802. His wife, Mary, and his son, Edward, were named the administrators. The court ordered the land to be divided and sold for the benefit of Frederick's minor children. It was bought by three of his sons, Edward, William and Issac. The last I heard, the farm is still in tact and is owned by a fruit processing company. gc-gateway@rootsweb.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: tedge20 > Surnames: Warren, Meals, Morgan > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.warren/4828/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Hello everyone, > I am trying to resolve a conflict I see on many of the public member boards re: Elijah Warren of Menallen, PA. I am a direct descendant of Elijah Warren and Lydia Meals through their son, Lewis Warren. But I see conflicting information about Elijah's parentage. There is a general agreement that he is either the son of Edward Warren (b. 1774) or Isaac Warren (b. 1779), both of whom are sons of Frederick Warren and Mary Morgan. There are even some boards that say BOTH men have sons named Elijah. Does anyone have proof of which man fathered the Elijah who was married to Lydia? I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter. > > Thanks in advance for your help.
