I recently obtained the estate papers for Eli R. Warren from Pope County, IL, the location of his death. He died August 31, 1891. No cause given in the papers. His wife Ellen outlived him. This Eli Warren was born in NC, probably Nash County, about 1807. His father Willis took the family to Lincoln County, TN where Eli grew up and married. In the 1840 census, he can be found in Calloway County, KY. In 1850, he can be found in Marshall County, KY. By 1851, he began buying land in Pope County, IL. Eli Warren was my 4th gr grandfather.
