This is very interesting to me. Warren was a native of Mass. who moved to Sacramento, California in 1849 for the gold rush, ended up being heavily involved in horticultural and agricultural matters there - founded the annual Sacto State Fair, edited the first ag. journal, The California Farmer, started the State Ag. Society, and had the first nursery and seed store in Sacto. His first wife died there and Lizzy Wiley was his second marriage. The Rev. A.H. Myers who performed the ceremony was also a famous horticulturist, rasing fruit trees and flowers at his nursery in Alameda, California.
