She m. James WARREN, son of Hedgeman WARREN and Lydia CANNON, 21 Oct 1858; She m. second, J.A. PEYTON. Pioneers of Pettis county, page 1:54-55 states Martha HATHAWAY married Benjamin F. Ransdell, Jr. 27 Apr 1865. This compiler believes sister Margaret married Benjamin RANDSELL on that date, as set forth on page 1:62. On page 1:62 and 2:32 it is stated Martha HATHAWAY married James WARREN 21 Oct 1858. On page 2:32 it is further stated that after the death of husband James WARREN, 13 December 1859, Martha married (--?--) PEYTON. Martha HATHAWAY is said to have married James WARREN 21 October 1858; and James WARREN died 1859. James WARREN is said to have had seven children by a previous marriage to Lydia LACEY. The youngest of these children would be about six years of age in 1860 (Pioneers of Pettis county, pp. 2:32-33). However, in the 1860 census, Martha is listed as plain Martha without last name WARREN in her father's family. Also in her fathers household, is J.R. WARREN, male, eight months old. J.R. WARREN is surely the son of James and Martha (HATHAWAY) WARREN. This researcher can find no trace of James WARREN's minor children in the 1860 Pettis county census. The families of Erbin and Hedgeman WARREN, brothers of James, are listed, but there is no sign of James children (1860 census, Missouri, Pettis county, Flat Creek township, p. 874). 1880 census, Missouri, Pettis county, Green Ridge, p. 10D; J.A. PEYTON, 43, grain dealer, born Kentucky, parents born Kentucky; Martha PEYTON, 40, born Indiana, father born Ohio, mother born South Carolina; following children all born Missouri, father born Kentucky, mother born Indiana; C.L. PEYTON, son, 18, grain dealer; M.L. PEYTON, daughter, 15; T.C.F. PEYTON, son, 12; J.E. PEYTON, son, 8; G.H. PEYTON, son 6; Ernest PEYTON, son, 3. James WARREN was born on 23 Jan 1818 at Christian county, Kentucky. He married Lydia F. LACEY on 23 Sep 1836 at Christian county, Kentucky. He died on 13 Dec 1859 at Pettis county, Missouri, at age 41. He was buried at Ervin WARREN cemetery, Pettis county, Missouri. Known children of Martha HATHAWAY and James WARREN were: i. J.R. WARREN; b. circa 1859 at Missouri. J.A. PEYTON was born circa 1837 at Kentucky. Known children of Martha HATHAWAY and J.A. PEYTON all b. at Missouri were as follows: i. C.L.
