I also found a John HINER in the Bureau of Land Managment data base where he purchased 160 acres in Chickasaw Co., in 1847. The data base is sometimes tricky because Clay Co. was formed out of portions of Chickasaw Co. in 1871 and you have to look in both couties for towns like Palo Alto which is now in Clay co. The Warren family I may be looking for is perhaps headed up by a Horace Warren. He bought land near Palo Alto, Chickasaw Co.(now Clay Co.), Mississippi in 1843. He is from Franklin co., Alabama, according to the BLM documents. I will be pursuing this guy. Thanks again for your helpfulness!
