MURRELLS INLET, SC | Sara ''Sallie'' South Cox, 61, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at National Health Care from complications following a stroke. She was born March 19, 1946 in Norfolk, Virginia, a daughter of the late E. Norman and Catherine Warren South. Sallie was a 1997 graduate of Coastal Carolina College and was very active in Beta Sigma Phi sorority. At the time of her stroke she was Director of Admissions at National Health Care of Garden City. Survivors include her children, Ellen Cox Hart and husband, Jay, of Charleston, S.C., George W. ''Tripp'' Cox III, Christopher H. Cox and wife, Jo-Ann, and Caroline R. Cox, all of Murrells Inlet, one brother, N. Anthony South and one sister, Kay S. Wright, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; her five grandchildren, Kathryn Hart, Michael Hart, Robert Hart, Tayler Cox and Cassidy Cox; and her former husband, George W. Cox Jr. of Myrtle Beach. Family and friends are invited to a prayer service at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with Father Raymond Carlo officiating. Private inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will follow the service until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
