I live in Washington State but I typically find items from around the United States in the multitude of antique stores in this area. Today I found an incredible handmade, pink silk crochet sample book dated 1888. On the inside cover is indicated this was made by Ida Ranket, Aunt of Fred Warren. (Perhaps by marriage - it is very faint.) This sampler won 1st prize at a New York State Fair. This particular item I did NOT purchase, but I did pick up a business card if anyone is interested in more details. My email address is suemanz.graham@comcast.net. I've put up a speadsheet of WARREN lines that lived in or near Pittsburgh at: http://www.rewarren.com/Warrens_From_Pittsburgh/index.htm It consolidates information I gathered from the census, cemetery and church records for the period 1790 to about 1920. The Samuels that I have are:? Samuel (b. 1821)?married to a Mary A. and living in Chippewa Twp. in Beaver Co. in 1850 Samuel (b. 1825 in Ireland) living in Pitt Twp. Allegheny Co. in 1850 Samuel (b. 1880) baptised at Round Hill Church in Elizabeth Twp., Allegheny Co. parents are Samuel and Annie M. Samuel (b. 1851) buried at Elizbeth Twp., Allegheny Co. 1915. Samuel (b. 1840) son of David & Eliza living in Elizabeth Twp., Allegheny Co. in 1850. If anyone has corrections or additional information, I'd be glad to update the spreadsheet. I am happy to share any Warren information I have from Pittsburgh PA My Warren's are indicated be from the Belfast area per my great grandfather's (Samuel Warren) death certificate. Would it be feasible to think that the Warren's of Pittsburgh are somehow related? Best guest of when mine came over come from the census. In 1900 it is reported that they arrived in 1852 and in 1910 when his wife (Matilda) was still living it is reported to be 1854. What is confusing are the various dates. Their first son (James D) is listed as being born in 1852 by Homewood Cemetery records so although it is possible for Samuel's wife to have been pregnant when arriving but the 1900 census gives their marriage date as 1855. James death certificate says he was born in 1858. I have never found a marriage listing in Pittsburgh for Samuel and Matilda. Same problem with Samuel. Homewood Cemetery has him born in 1823 (probably more like 1832) yet the same census lists him born in 1835. Which documents are correct???!! I am totally confused over who William would be now, so I will need to do more sleuthing. It is possible he is older, but a brother of Charles just the same. Or, another possibility I had not considered is that he is a half-brother to Rhoda, born to Anna after Anna left Anson. Maybe he's not a Warren at all!
